  • MAHJONG FEVER!!!!! It’s all the craze! So I set out to learn how to play. I enrolled in a two hour lesson elsewhere and although I enjoyed it, I really found it confusing. I then decided to take another lesson with this Mahjong Mingle and I could not believe the difference in the teaching format. Denise made it far more clear, concise and understanding. I finished the lesson with a far better understanding of the game… I give Mahjong Mingle five stars.

  • I had heard about Mahjong but literally knew nothing about it. I decided to take a lesson from Mahjong Mingle. Denise and Carrie are former school teachers and you could tell the minute we walked into their class. There were large poster boards showing every tile and what they mean. They then gave us a winning hand, a tip sheet and a 2026 Majhong Card to help us understand how to win. We then played a game where she walked around to each of us helping us with our strategies on how to win. It’s a tough game but under their tutelage I came out of the class with a great understanding on how to play the game and look forward to playing again.

Why do we recommend these sets and mats?

It’s surprisingly easy to end up with the wrong Mahjong set. A lot of what’s sold online looks right at first glance but uses Chinese tiles that don’t work for American Mahjong.

We only recommend sets that include the proper American Mahjong tiles, including Jokers and the full 166-tile count, making them easy and enjoyable to play with! We also love pairing them with a simple mat. It keeps everything organized and makes learning the game feel a little less overwhelming.
